Fast Food Negative Effects On The Nation

Fast food is having a negative effect on the nation, more so than anything else. Today, the items that most people eat are not actually food. They are made to look and taste like food, but they are wholly processed. This type of processed food has brought this nation to a terrible precipice. So many people are overweight or obese, and yet they feel as though they are starving and cannot seem to lose weight or get healthy. The reason for this is because people are not getting what their body needs.

Fast food brings with it a slew of unnecessarily high calories. Your body is designed to look for salts, sugars, and fats because these were the foods that would last the longest and give you the most energy while you hunted for your next meal. Today, however, most people no longer hunt and certainly do not need the higher calories from such food items. Many people do not exercise, which combined with high calorie, unhealthy and processed foods, is dangerous. The average adult exercises no more than 15 minutes per day, three days per week. This is dangerously low for someone whose single fast food meal can contain more calories than they should intake all day.

These processed foods are full of chemicals, fats, and sugars. The problem is that they lack the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that your body actually needs. That is why many people will eat a large burger meal from their local fast food location, washed down with a chemical beverage in lieu of water, and still feel hungry. Their bodies did not get the nutrients that it needed so the body is demanding more food because it needs more nutrients. But instead of giving it the nutrients that it requires, most people turn to chemically processed and sugary snacks. Many people misread their need for water as hunger and eat when their body really needs water.

Many people struggle to lose weight because they consume diet sodas in an effort to “remove the calories”. And yet, diet sodas contain aspartame and caffeine which, when combined, create a toxin in your body. This toxin binds itself to fat and in an effort to protect yourself, your body will not shed the fat which contains these toxins, until you detox with gelatinous foods like chia seeds or aloe. As a result, many people fail to lose weight and continue to eat fast food.
